    Bandel L. Carano, Managing Partner, joined Oak Investment Partners in 1985 and became a General Partner in 1987. Bandel’s investment focus is on Information Technology and Clean Energy.

    Bandel is currently on the Boards of Centric Software, NextNav, and nLight. Bandel has also led investments in and/or served on the Boards of 2Wire, Airspan Networks, Avici, CoreTek, Endwave, Fiber Tower, Good Technology, Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, MobiTv, Mojix, NeoPhotonics, Netopia, Phononic Devices, Picture Tel, Polycom, Presidio, Protean Electric, Qtera, Sentient Networks, SmartDrive, Solarflare Communications, Tegic, Trapeze Networks, Wellfleet, Entropic, Illustra/Informix, Sybase, Tele Atlas, Actel, Airgo Networks, CommQuest, Kenet, Level 5, NanoH2O, NemeriX, Newport Media, Resonext, SMIC, Synaptics, Virata, Interconnectix, Parametric, Synopsys, Tensilica, Wavestream, and Zayo.

    Prior to Oak, Bandel joined Morgan Stanley’s Venture Capital Group in 1983. He was responsible for advising Morgan Stanley on high-tech new business development, as well as sponsoring venture investments.

    Bandel received BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. He currently serves on the Investment Advisory Board of the Stanford Engineering Venture Fund.

    Fred Harman, Managing Partner, joined Oak Investment Partners as a General Partner in 1994. Fred’s primary investment focus is on Consumer Internet and Internet New Media.

    Fred is currently on the Boards of RebelMouse, Sovrn, and Thrive Global. Fred has also led investments in and/or served on the Boards of aQuantive (acquired by Microsoft), Allyes (acquired by Focus Media), Bleacher Report (acquired by Time Warner), Fastclick (acquired by ValueClick), Captura (acquired by Concur), Cobalt (acquired by ADP), Exodus, Huffington Post (acquired by AOL), ILOG (acquired by IMB), IMS (acquired by Celestica), Inktomi (acquired by Yahoo), Knowledge Networks (acquired by GfK), Pivotal, Primus, Qpass (acquired by Amdocs), Sanmina/SCI, SPSS (acquired by IBM) and U.S. Auto Parts. Prior to Oak, Fred worked for seven years with Morgan Stanley’s Venture Capital Group where he was a General Partner. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Fred worked in Business Development at Hughes Communications where he was involved in the formation of the predecessor to DirecTV.

    Fred received an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business and a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University where he was a Hughes Fellow. Fred is a Trustee of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation, and a co-owner of the Golden State Warriors.

    Edward F. Glassmeyer, Managing Partner, co-founded Oak Investment Partners with Stewart Greenfield in 1978. Ed concentrates in Information Technology with a focus on Cloud and Enterprise Software and Services companies and is active in the broadband networking sector.

    Ed has led investments in and/or served on the Boards of IT service companies CBORD Group (acquired by Roper Industries), Cloud Technologies Partners (acquired by Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company), Mobius Management (acquired by AGS Content Management), and Credit Card software company Paysys (acquired by First Data). Telcom companies include Telica (acquired by Lucent), Bellcore spinout Tellium (acquired by Zhone Technologies), and Cogent Communications (NASD: CCOI). Also, Aavid Termalloy (NASD:AATT) since taken private, and Seagate (NASD: STX ).

    Ed started his career at Citicorp Venture Capital and later became Managing Partner of The Sprout Group at DLJ (Donaldson, Lufkin, & Jenrette). Ed graduated from Princeton University, served as an officer in the Marine Corps, and received his MBA with distinction from The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College, where he was a board member for 20 years. Ed was a founding Director of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA), and received their Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005.

    Ann Lamont, Managing Partner, joined Oak in 1982 and served as General Partner from 1986 to 2006. She currently leads the healthcare and financial services technology teams at Oak.

Annie also is a member of The Advisory Council for The Center for Financial Services Innovation (CFSI and JP Morgan Chase). Annie is ranked the number one healthcare investor on the Forbes Midas List.

    Prior to joining Oak, Annie was a research associate with Hambrecht & Quist. Annie served on the Stanford University Board of Trustees. She has also served on the Executive Board of the National Venture Capital Association. Annie graduated from Stanford University with a BA in Political Science.

    Prior to joining Oak, Andrew was a Senior Associate with Capital Resource Partners, a mezzanine capital firm, where he focused on investments in healthcare and business services companies. Andrew was also a Financial Analyst in the media and communications group of Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown. Andrew graduated from Princeton University with a BA in History.

    Grace A. Ames, General Partner and Chief Operating Officer, joined Oak in 1999 as Chief Financial Officer.

    Prior to Oak, Grace’s senior management career in the financial industry spanned portfolio management, brokerage, trading analytics, cash management, and global custody. At the outset of her financial career, Grace developed and managed the non-dollar and derivative product trading operations for Harvard Management Company (“HMC”) in Boston. From HMC, Grace was recruited to be Vice President at Barclay Investments, Inc. in Providence then New York City, where her contributions included trade analysis, systems development, cash management, and operations management. Grace returned to Boston to join Brown Brothers Harriman’s global custody operation as manager of the Treasury Department.

    Just prior to joining Oak, Grace served as CFO of New Bond Trading, Inc., an investment manager of a group of complex offshore, multicurrency, fixed income hedge funds. Grace received her BA degree in Government from Smith College.

  7. Brian Dunefsky

    Brian Dunefsky, Chief Compliance Officer, joined Oak in December 2016. Prior to joining Oak, Brian worked at Withers Bergman LLP in New York representing, among others, private equity firms, investment advisors, investors and ultra-high net worth individuals in a wide variety of legal and regulatory matters.

    Brian began his legal career at a Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP, a leading investment funds law firm, where he represented clients in connection with complex financial litigation and Securities and Exchange Commission and U.S. Department of Justice investigations. Brian graduated from Binghamton University with a BA in Economics, and received his JD from Hofstra University School of Law.

    Allan Kwan, Venture Partner, joined Oak in 2007 after more than 25 years of information technology, telecommunications, and general management experience. Allan consults on investment opportunities and portfolio company operations in Asia. Prior to joining Oak, he served in various executive roles at Yahoo! Inc. spanning six years — first as Regional VP and Managing Director of North Asia operations, then as Vice President of Yahoo! International, following Yahoo!’s $1.7 billion investment into Alibaba.com in August 2005. Prior to Yahoo!, Allan was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Asia.com. Allan also spent more than six years at Motorola Inc., where he served as a corporate officer and led the paging products division in Greater China. Allan’s high-tech career started with a decade of service at Nortel across engineering, product development, distribution, and marketing. Allan holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honor) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia in Canada, as well as a Master of Business Administration (Distinction) degree from the Wharton School, and a Master of Arts degree in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He served two years on the International Advisory Board of Xuhui District in Shanghai, seven year as independent Board member of Linktone (NASD: LTON), and eight years on the board of NeoPhotonics (NYSE: NPTN). Allan currently holds Board positions in SMiT (HKEX:2239.HK) and Oak’s portfolio company Gshopper. He is also on the Lauder Institute Advisory Board at the University of Pennsylvania.

  9. Ren Riley

    Ren Riley, Venture Partner, joined Oak in 1999, became a General Partner in 2006 and transitioned to a Venture Partner in May 2015. His primary focus was on emerging growth, multi-stage investments in the Internet, mobile, FinTech and enterprise software and services sectors, around the globe. He has served on the Boards of several private companies during his tenure at Oak and remains on the Board of Yoyi Digital.

    Ren currently is an Investment Partner at Fin Capital, a venture capital firm focused on B2B FinTech investments. Before joining Fin, Ren was co-founder and managing director of Enclave Liquidity Partners, a private equity firm he co-founded in 2019, delivering liquidity solutions to founders, executives, and key shareholders of late-stage private growth companies.

    Prior to Enclave, Ren was a Partner at Robertson Stephens, an RIA providing wealth management services for high-net-worth individuals and family offices. Positions during his tenure at the firm also included CEO and Head of Alternatives.

    Ren began his career working in the corporate finance division of the original Robertson Stephens, a technology-focused investment bank based in San Francisco, where he was a Senior Associate. He has an AB in Government from Dartmouth College and holds FINRA licenses Series 63 and 82.

    Dana Tavella, the Controller for Oak’s funds, joined in September 1998. Prior to joining Oak, Dana worked as the assistant to the Controller at Crompton & Knowles from 1996 – 1998. From 1993 – 1996, Dana worked at Grill & Partners, LLC as a staff accountant. Dana received her BS degree in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Connecticut.
