Ifty Ahmed, General Partner, joined Oak Investment Partners in January 2004 and he currently focuses on investing across the technology sector; with an active interest in advanced semiconductors, communications, interactive media, and consumer internet companies. His current investments include Affinity Media (content and services for massively multiplayer online games), CDNetworks (pan-Asian CDN provider, KOSDAQ: 073710.KQ), Kayak (search for the travel vertical), Kenet (analog semiconductors), Newport Media (mobile TV semiconductors), Oberon Media (cross platform casual game solutions), and PML Flightlink (in-wheel motors for EV and clean energy applications). His past investments include Airespace (acquired by Cisco, NASD: CSCO), iTouch (acquired by Buongiorno, MILAN: BNG.MI), and Gmarket (NASD: GMKT).
Prior to joining Oak, Ifty worked as an investment professional at Goldman Sachs, in Hong Kong and New York, with their Special Situations and Private Equity groups. After receiving his undergraduate degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi, Ifty held a number of operating and business positions with Schlumberger-Wireline & Testing across the Middle East, North Africa and the North Sea region. He earned his MBA from Harvard Business School, where he graduated with High Distinction and was selected to be a Baker Scholar.
