Emmalyn Shaw, Director – Consumer Internet and New Media, joined Oak in 2008. Prior to joining Oak, Emmalyn was a Vice President at VantagePoint Venture Partners where she invested in the Internet and software sectors. Emmalyn’s investments include Intermix/myspace (sold to Fox Interactive), Blueegg.com, Inxight Software (sold to BOBJ) and 3VR Security. Prior to VantagePoint, Emmalyn was an Associate at The Barksdale Group, where she worked on several early-stage software and Internet investments including TellMe Networks (sold to MSFT), Neoteris (sold to NSCN/JNPR) and Crossgain (sold to BEA). Additionally, she worked as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley in the Corporate Finance Technology Group where she executed several public and private equity offerings. Emmalyn began her career as a Product Manager for a portfolio management software company, Barra. She received her MBA from the Wharton School of Business and earned her BA in economics from the University of California at Berkeley where she graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
